WHAT...ME WORRY?

Greetings all of you worry free people. I have a copy of this picture sitting in my office in a frame with a cracked glass covering it. The smiling face of Alfred E. Neuman speaks volumes to me in times of stress, worry, anxiety, tension, doubt and unbelief. Alfred is too dumb to worry...or to realize that he needs to worry. Me...? I'm either to dumb or naive to worry.......OR....I choose to trust that God actually meant what He said..."...casting ALL your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you. (I Peter 5:7) One of the things that I miss sometimes in the midst of my casting...is what precedes the casting...HUMBLING myself. Sometimes my PRIDE gets in the way...and I find myself opposing God. (I Peter 5:5) I wonder why there seems to be a roadblock in my prayers...my progress...and it turns out to be my PRIDE. God's heartbeat is to EXALT me...lift me up... make me the head and not the tale...but before this can happen...He must increase...and I must decrease. (John 3:30) God is looking for the PROPER TIME to lift me up...and for that proper time to come about... again the humbling of myself...my way...my desire...my, my my...must be laid down. My way says to hold bitterness and resentment towards someone who has done me wrong....humbling myself brings me to a place to obey God and forgive the unforgivable. The cause and effect of humbling myself is that God no longer opposes me...and the proper time for exaltation is now able to take place. My way is to fear the world economy and horde all of my money....humbling myself brings me to the place to obey God...let my money be a conduit of blessing to someone...with the cause and effect being He meets my needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. Sooooooooooo...it matters not what my circumstance or situation screams...or what the various talking heads pontificate...or if there is peace or unrest in the world...My God's words are true...to "BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING BUT IN EVERYTHING BY PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION WITH THANKSGIVING, LET YOUR REQUEST BE MADE KNOWN TO GOD, AND THE PEACE THAT PASSES UNDERSTANDING SHALL GUARD YOUR HEARTS AND YOUR MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS." (Philippians 4:6,7)

What...me worry? Not as long as I am humbling myself under the mighty hand of God...and am casting my anxiety on Him. Did I mention that He cares for me?

THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE

Hello friends...it's the simple things in life that give me pleasure. My son Phillip...Floyd the Barber...and a pile of crawfish...it just don't get no better! Hey...bad English...good times. Sometimes we search everywhere for pleasure...when God manifests Himself in the simple pleasures of everyday life...but we tend to miss them as we search for the big events. Back in 1958...Elvis Presley starred in a movie called KING CREOLE (my favorite Elvis movie). It opened up with Elvis waking up in the French Quarters...walking out on the balcony...and their is a vendor...a creole lady rolling her cart of Crawfish. She is singing her song of sale...about her crawfish...and Elvis begins singing back to her in the old call and response style...Crawfish....Crawfish...see I got em...see the size...stripped and cleaned...before your eyes...sweeeeeet meat...fresh and ready to eat.

Quotable Ruminatin' Quotes

Hello friends...can I quote you on that?

Throughout the years as we Rambled On....I have quoted from various sources...added a spin on them...made them our own. Since this is a new adventure...I thought I would list some of the various quotes that surface from time to time...so when you see them (for those who are new to the Ruminator Ramblings)...you will know what we are talking about.

#1 DBR...nothing more...nothing less...Death...Burial...Resurrection...
nothing more nothing less. Not DBR+ good works....DBR+my sacrifice...not DBR+whatever I quit or started to try to get into the grace of God. Just DBR...nothing more...nothing less.

#2 "UNRESTRAINED THOUGHTS (what we say)...PRODUCES UNRESTRAINED WORDS (what we say)...RESULTING IN UNRESTRAINED ACTIONS (what we do)." Nuff said.

#3 "Ya gotta hang in there like a bitin' sow!" This speaks of the tenacity of faith in the face of nothing is sight.

#4 "Between the point of prayer...based on a promise...and and the point of provision...answer...manifestation...is a land called THE LAND OF NITTY GRITTY...where you don't see anything. This is where you walk by faith...not by sight."

#5 "If you are on the front porch and desire your dog to come to you, then don't call out Here Kitty Kitty." When you pray be specific like God did when he called things that are not as though they were.

#6 "GODISNOWHERE." When you looked at this word...you either read God is NO where...or God is NOW here. It really depends on how you look at it.

#7 "Jesus Hung Up For Our Hang Ups". I first heard this in 1970 at Tennessee Temple Bible School. It was consider to radical a statement and I had to take it down off of my door.

#8 "V=P-O This is the formula for life. V=Vitality is equal to the
P=Potential minus the O=Obstructions. What's obstructing your potential with God. It could be the reason you don't have much spiritual vitality.

#9 "It's All About Me Baby...It's All About Me. This is always the
number one reason in my top ten lists. For example...The Top Ten Reasons It's OK For Me To Cuss...#2 It makes Mama so proud.. and the #1 reason it's OK for me to Cuss...IT'S ALL ABOUT ME BABY...IT'S ALL ABOUT ME.

Ruminator Beginnings

Greeting and Saluations Fellow Ruminators...and you know who you are.

My stubble faced friend...Richard...has encouraged me to venture out into the land of blogging. I am so use to the format of Rambling via the e-mail list...that I a little uncomfortable. I love my comfort zone.

For those who don't know what the Ruminator Ramblings is all about...let me give you a thumbnail sketch.

The Ramblings are an extension of a Sunday School Class that I teach. We are called the RUMINATORS...because like a ruminant...we chew on the cud of the Word of God and meditate on it. The springboard for the class was the session we did with the TOPICAL MEMORY SYSTEM where we memorized 60 verses and studied the surrounding context. One verse was Joshua 1:8

"This book of the law shall not depart from your MOUTH...but you shall MEDITATE (haw-gaw) on it day and night so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have success." The word for meditate means to mutter under you breath...in your mouth as you contemplate the Word. The Latin word is ruminate...which relates to the way a ruminant (cow, sheep, etc) chews grass...forms a cud...after it has passed through 4 chambers of the stomach...and then look as if they are contemplating life as the slowly chew the cud. We do the same thing with the Word of God....thus was born the Ruminators. Our battle cry is a loud mmmmoooooooooooooo as we mooooooooove in the Spirit.
