STREAMS OF LIGHT...INTO DARKENED CORNERS

Hello fellow lights. What do Harleys...motorcycle riders...Steve Burkett...John Fett...Al Green and Bob Dylan all have in common?????????????????????????

ANSWER: The Remedies. This is a group of musicians...who love the Lord God with all their hearts, souls, minds and strength...and really do love their neighbors as themselves. They love them so much...that they will go where they are...even if it is in the midst of Motorcycle Mammas and Kat Daddys.

The play with expertise...from tunes by Al Green (Let's Stay Together)...and Bob Dylan (You Got To Serve Somebody).

While many of their fans...will not darken the doorway to an "official" church building...the bridge the gap by loving them...and earning the right to speak into their lives.

To this old Ruminator...this is the kingdom infiltrating...as Larry Norman put it...
"Streams of Light into Darkened Corners.

I just wanted to say kudos to you guys...because...you really do have the Remedy...Jesus.

RUMINATIN' ROD'S ROCK N' ROLL NIGHT OUT

To whom it may concern...I had a great night out last night. Brenda was on the OCOEE RIVER on Friday...and on the road back...and old Rod was grooving to the tunes of a group called the FAUX BRUMMELS. This hot little band was playing at Kimbro's Pickin' Parlor in Franklin.

It was a small, cramped, hot and steamy place...but I loved it. I ate an overpriced bacon and tomato sandwich...drank a warm Diet Coke...at a hot bowl (yes even though I cooked throughout the day and night).

It was an eclectic grouping off people who showed up...including the various in-crowd recording people...young up and comers...the inebriated to the tea totalers.

The musicians was a montage of various artist that I cut my teeth on in the early days of the Jesus movement including...Phil Keaggy, Dave Perkins, Lynn Nichols, Tom Howard, Mark Williamson and other surprise guest artists.

They opened up with one of my favorite instrumental songs...GREEN ONIONS. Aaaaaaaaaaaah...mighty tasty oh precious stink. From that point the music ranged from blues, Beatles (I Saw Her Standing There/Get Back), Yardbirds, Stevie Winwood, The Turtles (a rollicking version of Happy Together), All Right Now (Argent) and everything in between. I am happy to say...that Phil ran his guitars through a Fender Princeton Reverb Amp (that I passed on to him). Hmmmmmmmm.....I wonder why it never sounded that way when I played through it. : ) OH WELL.

The bottom line is...that at 56 going on 57...I can still ROCK AND ROLL...but of course that is when I'm trying to get up because I fell down and I can't get up.
