MILK...HONEY...GRAPES: Aaaaaah Grasshopper

Greetings fellow More Than Conquerors. What's keeping you away from the Milk, Honey, and Grapes in your life? In other words...what's keeping you from your rights of Promised Land?

Back in the early 70's the rage in the media was Martial Arts. Billy Jack was taking his foot and placing it on the opposite side of Boss Posner's face...and there was not a ______ thing that he could do about it. Bruce Lee was flying with Fist of Fury. Carl Douglas was crooning about everybody Kung Fu Fighting with fists as fast as lightning. Speaking of Kung Fu...the T.V. show that was the brainchild of Bruce Lee...but he could not star in it because he was too Chinese was a hit with a non-oriental...David Carradine. This was set back in the Old West days...with Caine being on the run because he murdered the emperors son in defense of Master Po. There were many flashbacks to interaction between the teacher and student. One of the interactions was when the young student asked the old teacher how is it you cannot see? The teacher had him close his eyes and asked him what he heard. He heard the babbling brook...the wind and rustling leaves. Master Po asked young Caine..."How is it that you cannot hear the GRASSHOPPER at your feet?" Caine opens his eyes in time to see the GRASSHOPPER by his feet...hopping away." From that moment on the young student was dubbed with the name...GRASSHOPPER. Aaaaaaah...Grasshopper.

In the Book of Numbers...we see a group of people who had the promise of Promise Land..
milk, honey, grapes...etc. God spoke to Moses to SPY OUT THE LAND... that He WAS going to give to the sons of Israel. NOTE: He was not sending them in to spy out the land to see what the could NOT HAVE. God knew what obstacles were there...but that was not the issue...the issue was see the land which I am giving to you.

12 warriors...the elite force...the origianal Delta Force was selected...and they were give the Recon Info. They were checking out three different areas...(1) the land of Canaan (2) the Negev (3) the hill country. There were told to see what the land was like, whether the people were strong or weak, whether they are few or many. Is the land good or bad? Are the cities open camps of fortified cities> Is the land fat or lean? Are there trees in it or not? Then God told them to MAKE AN EFFORT to get some fruit of the land. (Numbers 13:1-20)

NOTE: In the Kingdom...we are called the DOERS of the Word...and the Holy Spirit is called the HELPER. As we step out...as we MAKE AN EFFORT...the Holy Spirit is called along side to HELP.

They went...and did what God told them to do...in obedience to His Word. They came back and reported everything, showed the fruit..and then added one word to the report that negated their faith. That word is found in Numbers 13:28...NEVERTHELESS.

What NEVERTHELESS meant was...we know what you said...that You were giving us this land that flows with milk, honey, grapes....BUT...the people who live in the land...and their fortified cities are large...and BIGGER THAN YOU GOD. (Numbers 13:21-29)

This report caused a commotion...and Caleb had to quiet the people who were before Moses. Joshua and Caleb saw the same things that the other ten spies saw...but there report was a little bit different. Instead of the words NEVERTHELESS BUT...Caleb said...WE SHOULD BY ALL MEANS GO UP AND TAKE POSSESSION OF IT, FOR WE SURLEY SHALL OVERCOME IT." (Numbers 13:30)

The 10 spys countered this FAITH DECLARATION and said..."We are NOT ABLE to go up against the people, FOR THEY ARE TOO STRONG." (Numbers 13:31) Caleb spoke out of a heart of FAITH...and the other 10 spoke out of a heart of FEAR.

The 10 spys built a SELF-IMAGE of who they were based on inhabitants in God's Land. They gave a BAD REPORT because(Numbers 13:32,33)

1. They saw a land that devours its inhabitants
2. All the people who they saw in it are men of GREAT SIZE
3. They saw the legendary Nephilim (sons of Anak)

The CAUSE and EFFECT of what they had seen...and allowed into their hearts was again manifested on their lips as they CONFESSED..."WE BECAME LIKE GRASSHOPPERS IN OUR OWN SIGHT...SO WE ARE IN THEIR SIGHT. (Numbers 13:33)

How we view ourselves...is how we become in the sight of our enemies.
Are you standing, trusting, believing what God says about you or are you believing what your unbelief says about you. Are you a Conqueror (in Him) or are you a grasshopper (in you and your enemies sight)?

Close your eyes...what do you see...do you see the enemy looming over you...ready to devour you and keep you away from what God has promised...or can you hear the grasshopper at YOUR FEET? Go ahead...put the enemy under your feet.

How does this relate to the BENEFIT PACKAGE found in Psalm 103:1-5? You will never access the package...as long as you have Grasshopper Mentality.

Pass the milk and honey...Oh and by the way...LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THOSE GRAPES.
